To me, art is a way that people can express how they're feeling through their work. This can be portrayed through many different types of art, such as drawings, paintings, sculptures, or in this case photos. Taking a photo isn't just about finding good lighting and a random subject, it's about expressing how you feel through subjects that have importance to you. One way I incorporate things I love in my pictures is not only taking a picture of it but trying to express how that subject makes me feel. For example, adding more light and warmth if it's a happier topic, or adding more contrast and value if it's a deeper topic. This technique is shown throughout my work because when I take pictures of my friends or family, I add more light because that's what makes me happy. However, when I took my pictures of fears, I used less light because it's a topic with a deeper meaning. Something I find very interesting about photography, is that everybody has different styles. Some people like taking pictures of a busy and crowded area to show perspective, and others like taking pictures of calm places where you can focus on nature. Without these different styles, all pictures would be the exact same and you'd never get inspired because no pictures stand out to you. This leads me to my next topic, inspiration. The definition of inspiration is "being mentally stimulated into doing something creative." However, this leads me to my question where does inspiration come from? I believe that inspiration can be found anywhere, from looking at photos online, or even to the experiences you've had in your life. There's a stigma that inspiration only occurs in creative people, however, I believe this is nowhere near the truth. Inspiration doesn't have to be in the form of art, it can be different ways of taking math notes, different ways to organize, a planner, and so much more!
